Accident Recovery in Westwood
Post-accident vehicle recovery with insurance and police coordination.
An accident in Westwood sets off a chain: police report, insurance claim, tow. Most Valuable Towing handles all three. We coordinate with your insurer, help with Ontario's Collision Reporting Centre requirements, and clear your vehicle from the scene safely. One call and it's in hand.
What happens after a collision on Westwood's roads?
When a crash brings traffic to a standstill in Westwood, the priority is clearing the scene safely and quickly. We coordinate directly with the responding officers so the recovery moves in step with the police investigation — nothing gets moved before it should, and nothing sits blocking the road longer than necessary. From the first call, we handle the extraction and liaise with your insurer so you're not juggling paperwork at the roadside.
Does Most Valuable Towing handle rollovers and vehicles that have left the road?
A vehicle that has rolled or left the travelled surface in Westwood requires more than a standard hookup — it needs controlled winching and careful rigging before anything moves. We carry out that extraction on-site, working around any debris or uneven ground, and we take custody of the vehicle for impound towing if the police require it. The goal is a clean, documented recovery that holds up with your insurance adjuster.
If a collision happens near Woodlawn or while travelling toward Ottawa or Barrhaven, are you still the right call?
Accidents don't respect municipal boundaries, and drivers passing through or leaving Westwood toward neighbouring communities still need coordinated recovery, not just a tow. We respond to those calls and manage the same full process — police coordination, extraction, and insurance handling — wherever the scene falls along that corridor. One call covers everything.
Common questions about accident recovery in Westwood
What is a Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) in Westwood?
A Collision Reporting Centre is a facility where you report a traffic collision as required by Ontario's Highway Traffic Act — generally when there is injury or more than $2,000 in property damage. Ottawa Police Service maintains multiple Collision Reporting Centre locations throughout the city. If you've been in an accident, Most Valuable Towing can guide you to the closest reporting location and provide the required towing paperwork.
Can Ontario automobile insurance policies help with roadside towing following a crash?
Towing coverage is typically part of standard auto insurance policies in Ontario, though the specifics like limits and pre-approval protocols differ across insurance companies and individual plans. Most Valuable Towing will generate a comprehensive tow receipt and scene documentation to support your insurance claim, and recommends you verify your specific coverage directly with your insurance provider while we manage your vehicle transport.
How quickly can Most Valuable Towing reach an accident scene in Westwood?
Every service call gets our instant response. Response time depends on your exact location and traffic, but for most Westwood locations we aim to have a truck rolling within minutes. You'll know exactly when we'll arrive, with a precise arrival time instead of a broad guess. For remote locations farther out, expect a longer drive time and we'll tell you that honestly.

"This has been one of my worst experiences with a towing company I’ve ever had to deal with. After calling them for a tow service, they told me they would be there in 2 hours. I followed up with the company after waiting for 2.5 hours without an update. So overall, I waited 3 hours for the tow. After towing my vehicle, they held my car on their property for days without giving updates. After receiving my quote for repair, they still wouldn’t release my vehicle to the body shop. Customer service is extremely rude and hung up on me when I inquired about the status of my vehicle which they won’t release back to me. Warning to all future customers. Stay away from this company and just pay for CAA Edit to the owner's response: Aug25/25 My previous experiences with accidents, and after speaking to friends, I confirmed I've never heard an instance where a tow company has held a vehicle for over 7 days. In prior accidents, the vehicle was signed off and dropped off at the body shop by within 1-2 days of the accident. And yes we did try to call. The first time your office said he was not able to answer our question on why you were holding the vehicle still. The second time we called, your office refused to give us a straight answer and hung up on us. Our insurance company's claims adjuster was confused on why your company was still holding the car as he stated it should have been released to the body shop. The release papers have already been signed. I hope the lot fee you incurred for this tow was worth future business. I will pass this on to the other body shops and mechanic shops I work with to parter with another tow service."
