What happens after a collision on Highway 417 near Vars?

A crash on Highway 417 through the Vars area can leave a vehicle in a position that's impossible to move without the right equipment. We work directly with the attending officers to coordinate safe removal, whether that means a straightforward tow or a more involved extraction from the shoulder. Our team handles the scene logistics so you can focus on what comes next.

Does Most Valuable Towing coordinate with insurance after an accident in Vars?

Yes — once your vehicle is secured, we communicate with your insurer to document the recovery and ensure the claim process moves without unnecessary delays. For residents in this compact rural community, that kind of direct coordination matters when the nearest adjuster or repair facility may not be around the corner. We keep the paperwork moving on our end so nothing stalls on yours.

Can you recover a rolled vehicle if the accident happened near Westwood or Woodlawn?

If the incident occurs on a rural road between Vars and neighbouring communities like Westwood or Woodlawn, we respond and handle rollover recovery as part of the same service. Police impound towing is also available when authorities require the vehicle held pending investigation. We treat every recovery as a complete job — nothing gets left half-finished at the roadside.

Common questions about accident recovery in Vars

What is a Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) in Vars?

For traffic collisions with injuries or property damage above $2,000, the Highway Traffic Act mandates reporting at a designated Collision Reporting Centre. Ottawa Police Service maintains multiple Collision Reporting Centre locations throughout the city. Most Valuable Towing can advise you on the closest one from your accident site and provide the tow documentation you'll need.

Will your car insurance in Ontario include towing services after an accident?

Most standard Ontario auto insurance policies include some towing coverage, but limits and pre-authorisation requirements vary by insurer and policy. Most Valuable Towing provides a detailed tow receipt and scene documentation for your claim — confirm your specific coverage with your insurer from the scene while we handle the vehicle.

How quickly can Most Valuable Towing reach an accident scene in Vars?

Our team jumps into action right away for each request. Response time depends on your exact location and traffic, but for most Vars locations we aim to have a truck rolling within minutes. We provide a clear, accurate estimated time of arrival, not a confusing time range. For service calls in remote areas, we'll honestly explain the longer drive and set accurate expectations.

"This has been one of my worst experiences with a towing company I’ve ever had to deal with. After calling them for a tow service, they told me they would be there in 2 hours. I followed up with the company after waiting for 2.5 hours without an update. So overall, I waited 3 hours for the tow. After towing my vehicle, they held my car on their property for days without giving updates. After receiving my quote for repair, they still wouldn’t release my vehicle to the body shop. Customer service is extremely rude and hung up on me when I inquired about the status of my vehicle which they won’t release back to me. Warning to all future customers. Stay away from this company and just pay for CAA Edit to the owner's response: Aug25/25 My previous experiences with accidents, and after speaking to friends, I confirmed I've never heard an instance where a tow company has held a vehicle for over 7 days. In prior accidents, the vehicle was signed off and dropped off at the body shop by within 1-2 days of the accident. And yes we did try to call. The first time your office said he was not able to answer our question on why you were holding the vehicle still. The second time we called, your office refused to give us a straight answer and hung up on us. Our insurance company's claims adjuster was confused on why your company was still holding the car as he stated it should have been released to the body shop. The release papers have already been signed. I hope the lot fee you incurred for this tow was worth future business. I will pass this on to the other body shops and mechanic shops I work with to parter with another tow service."
